We now pick up our story
On a California night
DART on its pad in all its glory
an awe-inspiring sight
Everyone was in their place
the mood was so intense
Our rocket went to outer space
for planetary defense

All the reviews and testing
Over all these years
Did not leave time for resting
by DART’s engineers
But Didymos came into sight
not a bit too soon
and everything aligned just right
for meeting Didymoon

We might have tested all our sanity

We published our predictions

Didymos got bigger

To point to Dimorphos
